This is a post about the health worker crisis and the important work being done by Save The Children as part of their No Child Born to Die campaign. The International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics says that

“The single most critical person for effective care at the time of birth is the midwife”

and sadly, 48 million women are forced to give birth without one. Over 2 million women give birth alone. There is a global shortage of 350, 000 midwives and this needs to change.
