This week’s Gallery theme is entitled Picture Postcard and to be honest there are so many pictures I could have chosen. I went for this one because for us, as a family, it really sums up the summer.
Since The Big One was little and able to walk, we’ve been going ‘exploring’ after dinner when the weather is nice. We’re lucky enough to live right by some lovey green spaces, full of woods to amble around in and large expanses of grass to run on. We also live by some awesome hills and beautiful riverside walks, which the kids absolutely love.
When The Big One was really little, it was amazing watching her let loose without the pram. Every single little thing was the most wonderous, fantastic thing she had ever seen. Running through the grass, picking flowers, climbing trees: it was like the world was her own personal playground. And now she’s teaching her brother all about it.
This picture was taken the day before yesterday. We’re heading up over the train tracks to the running fields and the secret village, about two minutes from our house.
