Tonight social media has been lit up with pink and purple stars. It has been a sight to behold, a thing of true beauty. Pink and purple stars for Matilda Mae.
Tomorrow we must say goodbye. As I write this, Heather (Stay at Home Mum and Loving It) and I are attempting to get some sleep at my mum’s house ahead of Matilda’s goodbye tomorrow. I cannot bring myself to say the word ‘funeral’. It is to be a celebration. A celebration of the little life of Matilda Mae. And what a little life it was. What an amazing impact this beautiful nine month old baby has been able to make. Because of Jennie, these stars have shone tonight and Matilda’s legacy shall live on for us all.
I cannot begin to fathom how Jennie is feeling tonight. There is so much I want to say to her, and so many people who have asked me to give her a hug from them. Jennie, we are holding you tonight, into tomorrow, and for as long as you may need us. We will hold you forever as you begin your new life, as you say goodbye to Matilda Mae.
If you are unable to make the service tomorrow, please keep the stars shining for Matilda Mae. On Twitter, use the #MatildaMae hashtag and show Jennie, David and the family that you are thinking of them.
