10 Tuff Spot activities to enhance learning through play

Lately I’ve been reading back through some of our play posts and remembering the fun we’ve been having- the best thing about blogging it all, in my opinion. So I thought I would collate a few of them here, for your convenience. You’re welcome!

Here are 10 Tuff Spot activities to enhance learning through play

  1. Messy Pirates! We loved this one so much and the hidden treasure water play is one activity the children ask for over and over. This was an activity that lasted all day and one I keep meaning to set up again. We loved practising mark making and indulging in sensory play with water, shaving foam and moon sand. 2. Paintballing! This is one we do lots and lots, over and over. We’ve even got some of the resulting art work in frames in the play room. It’s a great activity and it can be adapted for all ages too.
  3. Moon sand dinosaur world.  Dinosaurs are still huge in our house and we often use different materials to create new worlds for them. Moon sand is one material we come back to time and again and we really made the most of it in this activity. This was a fabulous imaginary play activity!
  4. The edible garden: 10 Tuff Spot activities to enhance #learningthroughplay~ ghostwritermummy.co.uk Ah, the edible garden. We loved this one. We use our WonderWorld Eco house and made sure that all the other materials were edible so that the littlest one could join in. We used cake for soil and made flowers from icing. The Big One and I loved setting this up and I think we need to revisit this one soon!
  5.  Gloop! What more can I say? We LOVE gloop and we have used it so many times in our play!
  6.  Giant outdoor texture painters and shaving foam paint. These are used all the time, more so in the summer because we take them outside. Great fun!
  7. Ice cream factory messy play! Wow. This was great fun. Very messy but VERY fun!ice cream factory: 10 tuff spot activities to enhance #learningthroughplay~ ghostwritermummy.co.uk
  8.  Shaving foam! Such a cheap and easy material to get hold of and it never ever disappoints. We have had such great fun with this one and it’s fab for mark making too.
  9. Dining out on mud and worms. Ha! One for the younger ones, edible mud and worms. Great fun.
  10.  Farm world with chocolate scented soil. Another fab one and we still have the soil today- never ending fun!

Thank you so much for linking up with Share With Me, I have really enjoyed reading your very creative post. I need to jot some of these down and do them with my two. I love the shaving foam paint idea. Brilliant all of these. I struggle to find things that are fun and messy that my kids would love to do. It’s great to get to know you and your blog, I hope I will be seeing more of you soon. Great pictures too!
