A couple of months ago we were sent a new silicone Gumme Glove teething mitt to try, and lately Elsie has really been putting it to the test. We have two teeth now! Hoorah! And while those bad boys were coming through, we have been testing all sorts of teething toys. None quite so unique as the Gummee Glove…

The Gummee Glove

What makes this teething toy so special is the fact that it can be worn as a mitt, and therefore baby can keep hold of it long before her motor skills deem it so. For younger babies that cannot hold their own toys it is amazing!

How it works

The glove has soft velcro fastenings that secure it to baby’s hand, and the heart shaped silicone teether pops into a pocket at the top. The pocket is closed with a popper that baby can’t open, but it means that you can regularly take the silicone teether out to clean it, and you can pop it into the freezer too- for those days where baby needs a little more comfort.

Features

The glove is bright yellow! Immediately eye catching, and easy to find in the toy box! The heart shaped silicone teether is purple, but you can also buy a water filled pink teething ring, or an orange silcone teether too- both of which fit inside the pocket.

Either side there are textured chewable silicone teethers for baby to hold and chew. There are also fabric tags that baby can both chew on and fiddle with.

On one side of the glove there is a contrasting black and white patterned panel which again is fantastic for younger babies.

The glove comes with a handy travel/ wash bag to keep your Gummee Glove safe whilst not in use.

Our verdict

Having already tried a Gumme Glove with original water filled teether with Bella, we knew we’d love the new silicone teether glove. And we do! Elsie especially has found teething a challenge and seems to have suffered a lot more than I remember the others did. She’s loved chomping and chewing on her glove, and it’s great to know that in the pram or the car she is able to keep hold of her toy. When she was younger, she wore the glove, but now she is able to hold it and manipulate it herself.

We love the Gummee Glove and genuinely think it’s an inspired and essential product for young babies especially. You can buy online for £12.99, get an extra silicone teether for £4.99 or a water filled (in pink or blue) for just 49p. Gummee Glove also do teething scratch mitts which are well worth a look too.
