I have to admit that dressing girls is a whole lot more fun than dressing boys. There just seems to be so much more fun stuff out there for girls, and they aren’t limited to just pants or trousers either . I mean, I have no objections to my son wearing skirts and dresses if he really wants to, but he really doesn’t so it’s not an option we explore much. Walk into a kids clothing store, or look online, and there are SO MANY bits and pieces I want to buy for the girls. When it comes to boys, I have to really search and more often than not the things I like are decidedly too ‘babyish’ now he’s the grand old age of eight. And because Bella and Elsie are so close in age and size, I literally cannot stop dressing them in matching outfits. Its so much fun! Here are my top three spring essentials for girls- I cannot wait to start clearing their wardrobes now!
All girls need a good pair of boots, and because the weather is still very changeable in the spring, I always like to buy new boots around this time of year. Bella recently got some amazing Twinkle Toes Shuffles from Skechers and Elsie is still rocking her Kickers, but I have my eye on a pair of awesome Wanderflora from Dr. Martens for her. Whatever we decide, boots are an essential part of the girls’ spring wardrobe- they work so well with jeans, skirts, dresses and shorts and are a must for kicking through leaves and puddles. It’s also worth noting that I recently discovered you can buy kids designer clothes online from Strawberry Children and I am now currently obsessed with these brilliant Monnalisa metallic gold boots that are currently on sale!
I cannot wait to put the thick winter coats away for another year! I’m sick of seeing them now, and there are so many lovely spring jackets I really want to get for the girls! I’m in love with a few amazing jackets from Tootsa MacGinty but I’m also torn by the beautiful rainbow raincoat we’ve seen in M&S too! A hood is a must, and waterproof would be a great idea too.
Jeans are such a necessary staple for any wardrobe, and I love the range of patterned denim that’s out there right now. Next have some beautiful jeans and jeggings- their mid blue unicorn jeans are amazing, as are the super cute unicorn print jeans. We love unicorns! H&M are always great for basic jeans and I’m absolutely loving dungaree shorts right now too- how cute would they look with a pair of bright tights and boots? Time to start shopping!
I think the wish list I have for the girls is pretty similar to my own, but there really are so many more fun options for kids. Note to clothes designers- grown ups want unicorns too! That aside, I’m loving bright block colours right now and especially contrasting shades of red and pink. Time to brighten things up for the new season I think!
