A letter for Matilda Mae from @janemcon
I started to follow your mummy’s blog after my second daughter was born, she is one month younger than you. I had found a lot of parent blogs as I surfed night after night while sitting upright with my little reflux baby. Your mummy’s writing was and still is an inspiration to me. She is such a wonderful mummy and loves all three of her children so much.
I don’t know your mummy, I will probably never meet her but I can honestly say she has changed my life. I think of your family most days. I talk to people about everything they have been through. On bad days thinking about you and you mummy help make me a better, more patient mummy.
I was diagnosed with PND last January and at times felt very sorry for myself. Then on that awful day in February I was up early with my youngest, my eldest was staying overnight with grandparents and when baby went for an early morning nap I took the opportunity to catch up on twitter with a cup of tea. When I saw the news I couldn’t believe it, I cried and thought of your poor family. I continue to follow your Mummy’s blog and on my darkest days I think if she can get up and get through the day, then so can I.
What she has done in your name is nothing short of amazing and she will continue to make sure the world remembers the little life of Matilda Mae. I know in my family we will continue to blow bubbles to you and when we see stars we think of you and your wonderful mummy.
Shine bright Matilda Mae
