Christmas gifts for all the family

This Christmas we’re going to have a wonderful selection of fantastic gifts under the tree and I thought I’d share some of them with you. Here’s a quick guide to Christmas for all the family, featuring Microscooters, House of Fraser and more…

Micro scooters

We’re so excited to see the kids faces when they unwrap these on Christmas morning! If you weren’t lucky enough to win one in my recent giveaway, then I thoroughly recommend going ahead and asking Santa for one instead. There really is a scooter for all your family- yes , even adults!

Bella will be getting the Mini micro scooter, suitable for ages 3-5 and she is the most likely to burst with excitement when she sees it. She’s such a physical child- always loves running, scooting and cycling. As long as she’s on her feet and moving, she is happy.  We even have indoor bicycles at home for her and she loves nothing more than to wheel around the kitchen! At the moment her scooter is now too small for her and so a new one has been on her list for months now. Can’t wait to see her face!

Luka has a Maxi Microscooter coming to him,  which will be a great upgrade from his current model. That one has been used so much it’s no longer in working condition! The great thing about this scooter is that you can design it yourself if you want to- picking and choosing different colours for the handle bars, stem, deck and mud guard. So nobody will have the same scooter as you when you get back to school in January!

Lastly we have the Mini minro 3 in 1 for Elsie. How cute is this? I and no idea they did scooters for 1 year olds, and this one will last her until she is 5 because it has three stages-what a fantasist idea. I’ll be updating the blog, Instagram and Facebook with our Microscooter adventures in the new year.  (more…)

From Babies with Love: #HugaBearDay

We were sent a beautiful bear from the wonderful From Babies with Love, and just in time for #HugaBear day too! Here are our thoughts, and a few reasons why you should pop one of these bears on your Christmas shopping list this year!

From Babies with Love_Hug a bear day_

Like everything else that you can buy from the super From Babies with Love, all profits from the bear go around the world to help children in need. Read this post for more info on exactly how this works, and who benefits from this. The bear is available to buy from Boots.

From Babies with Love:

Like the super cute sleep suit we were sent, the bear comes beautifully presented, in a box with the signature label printed with From Babies with Love. I absolutely adore this touch because it’s a really subtle celebration of just how wonderful this brand really is. To think that every singe penny that is made in profit goes to help these children is amazing. And so each and every item you buy really is from babies, with love. (more…)

Family games from Megableu: a review

We were recently sent a couple of spooky games for an evening of family games fun from Megableu. And fun we had! We played The Creepy Hand and Ghost Hunt, and this is what we thought…

Family games from Megableu: a Ghost Hunt game is aimed towards children aged 5 and above, and it’s a really simple game to play. This was perfect to play on Halloween and it’s one that can be played with just one player. The kids loved it! Players pop on the glasses, and the skeleton projects ghosts onto the walls that you have to shoot with the laser gun. Need I say any more? (more…)

Learn how to carve a pumpkin this Halloween

Halloween is fast approaching and I’ve been promising the kids we will have an awesome pumpkin this year. We don’t really do the whole trick or treating thing, but the kids do like to dress up and have the house looking all spooky, and pumpkin carving has always been a little tradition we’ve stuck to over the years. It’s usually Ghostwriterdaddy’s job but this year I think I’ll have  ago myself. Want to learn how to carve a pumpkin this Halloween?

A quick look online (especially Pinterest) will show you that the more eleborate your design, the better. But just how easy are these designs to carve when it actually comes to putting knife to vegetable? I love these clever tutorials found over at Better Homes, but they’re not really what the kids had in mind. We’re thinking Minecraft or Disney at the moment! These Disney inspired designs are awesome, but I’m not sure I can get away with any of them! Luckily, there are some stencils out there you can download and print at home to help. These Disney stencils are amazing, and we love these clever designs created by carving experts Sand in Your Eye for Ladbrokes too. (more…)
