We absolutely LOVE being part of the Frugi family, and with every delivery comes a new delight. This time, the beautifully fun and vibrant Harriet Hoody dress. Perfect for autumn and winter, and a fantastic compromise for a little girl who just has to wear a dress EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. She is who she is! And this is the Harriet Hoody dress…
As usual, we’re loving the fact that every purchase from Frugi means we’re giving back to the planet thanks to the brand’s ethical policies. Take a look here for more info. And, of course, we’re also loving that the Harriet Hoody dress, like every other item of clothing at Frugi, is made from soft organic cotton- sourced from sustainable crops. (more…)
Recently Luka and I were invited to Manchester museum of science and industry to take part in the #DysonChallenge with Currys PC World. Now those who know me know that I actually love vacuuming and Dyson are a brand that I have always relied on too. I’ve owned two Dyson vacuums in my life, and I have to say that they are the kings of the vacuum world. That said, my last model has been relegated to the garage in the last few months, but only due to a couple of design ‘flaws’ that I’ll talk about in a moment. I’ll point out now that the new Dyson Cinetic Big Ball vacuum has eliminated these ‘flaws’ (and I say flaws, really I mean niggles to me personally!) which is fantastic. So the aim of the #DysonChallenge was to showcase a couple of new products, and to inspire our kids to think about how these products work, and how the engineers work hard to make sure that their creations are the best they can be.
Take a look at my video of our day:
How is this is even happening? How am I making this announcement, with every intention of following this through? How has it already begun, this new journey? But it has, even if only slightly. And it’s very early days, but this new stage for our family has begun none the less. And so I need to make the announcement, and make it real. Make it so it is really happening.
We are ambassadors for Huggies Pull Ups.
And so begins one of the last journeys my last baby will take. From nappy to knickers. For the last time. A lingering vestige of babyhood that she is becoming more and more ready to rid herself of. Again, how is this even happening? (more…)
Regular readers will know that poor old elsie suffers from a cow’s milk protein allergy, and she also has a steroid inhaler to treat restricted airways too. On top of that, I suspect she’s suffering from hay fever also- I suffer, and allergies tend to run in the family, so it would come as no great surprise really. So when Philips asked if I would like to try out some products from their new anti allergen range, I agreed readily; anything to ease discomfort and *possibly* help Elsie (and us!) get some better sleep! We were sent the Power Pro Aqua 2 in 1 wet and dry cordless vacuum cleaner, the Power Pro Anti Allergen Bagless Cylinder vacuum cleaner, the 3000 Series Air Purifier with NanoProtect filter. and the Dust Mite Hand Held vacuum cleaner -and this is what we thought.
The Anti Allergen range
First of all, I love that Philips have brought out a range of products specially for combatting allergens in the home. For me, its the peace of mind that I’m doing everything I can to fight allergens for Elsie and I, and my eldest too who also suffers. Ghostwriterdaddy also reacts quite badly to dust, and since our cleaner went on maternity leave right around the time the products arrived it really was great timing. Philips say they intend to “innovate to enrich lives” and that ” It’s often said that a healthy home is a happy one: if you feel good, life becomes that much more fun to live for you and your family.” and I love that philosophy. The products are designed to help families manage the allergen levels in the home- ” The unique allergen filtration combined with powerful performance helps to filter up to 99% of allergens like pollen, pet dander, dust and dust mites to help you keep your home clean and healthy and protect your family.” (more…)
