I love this time of year if I’m honest. Long, lazy days stretching ahead with no time restraints and no real need to be anyway fast- just what the kids need after a busy year at school. And like most families, we look forward to getting away too. The only problem with summer holidays away though, is the travelling with kids part. My son often says he wishes we could just snap our fingers and teleport ourselves to our destination, and I have to say that the idea is very tempting indeed! And for some, its not just the length of time spent travelling, its the fact that the travelling itself can really take its toll on your health. Yep, we’re talking travel sickness, and until a couple of years ago I’d never experienced it. Let me tell you, it is NOT fun at all. So when Sea Band got in touch to see if I’d like to try out their products, along side some super fun holiday activity books for the kids I felt it only sensible to say yes. Here are my thoughts, plus read to the end for details of a fab giveaway too! (more…)
One thing I love about working with wonderful brands is getting the opportunity to preview new products and designs before everyone else! And believe me when I tell you that sitting (literally, in Elsie’s case!) on the latest designs for the Tots Bots swim nappy range, Swim Tots has been hard! I’ve really wanted to share them with you all because they are so fab! And now, at last, I can. There are two fab new designs in the Swim Tots range, and we have been lucky enough to get our hands one on of them for a spot of rigorous water slide testing. Allow me to reveal all…
Under The Sea
Just how fabulous is this design? The colours really pop and the fun characters are perfect. Elsie was particularly enamoured with the little turtles and jelly fish and since she has a real passion for swimming she literally couldn’t wait to get this nappy on! (more…)
One thing I’ve always been a little over cautious with is teeth, for myself and for the kids too. It was always drummed into me as a child that once the big teeth came through, that was it. Those were your teeth for life, and you need to take care of them. I admit to being a little paranoid about oral hygiene, but since teaching a number of children with rotten teeth I always feel my fears are justified. As parents, its up to us to set a good example for our children, and that means taking good care of ourselves too. I never ever skip brushing my teeth and I never let the kids skip it either. It’s one of those non negotiable tasks that nobody ever questions, thankfully! I was recently asked if I’d like to try out a few products from the UltraDEX range, and since this brand had already been recommended to me by my dentist, I jumped at the chance.
We were sent a tube of UltraDEX low-abrasion toothpaste, a bottle of daily oral rinse and a bottle of fresh breath oral spray.
UltraDEX are renowned for their dedication to oral hygiene with the range they sent me focused on eliminating bad breath, something that all of us are affected with at some point in our lives. Studies have found the bad breath occurs in the mouth in 9 out of 10 cases, and even those with clean mouths can suffer. Eek! I know that I’m always a little paranoid if I’ve eaten garlic or something else strong tasting the night before, and will always think twice if I have a meeting or another social engagement to attend. During pregnancy I was always very sensitive to the smell of other people’s breath (sorry!) and it’s something I do tend to pick up on more easily now. So I was rather excited to try this range and was interested to see whether I could tell the difference. (more…)
A little while ago Ghostwriterdaddy and I were talking about how the kids don’t really collect things like we used to. I was so SO proud of my rubber collection. I had them all stored in an old Quality Street tin and would literally spending hours just sniffing them. I was easily pleased- don’t tell me I’m the only one! My favourite was a little pink ferrari that smelled of strawberries… so anyway. There seems to be so much stuff / toys in our house, but nothing that has really caught their attention and made them want to start a collection. They’ve had Match Attax cards, squinkies, Lego cards… but nothing sticks. That was, until Bella discovered Num Noms. And now, apparently, we have a collection in the making. Here are my thoughts on our Num Noms collection… series three.
What are Num Noms? (more…)
